Gnome house ... for rent :)

Good morning everyone :)

( It is a very chilly one in Chicago area :( )

My whole life I wanted to have a small house with a big yard full of huge, old trees ...
They give you perfect shade in a hot summer afternoon so you can read a book sipping cold lemonade or have a nap in a comfy hummock ...

Finally, my dream comes true !!!

We bought a house with a lot of old, beautiful trees in a front and back yard ...
believe me, I couldn't be happier ...
It was February when we moved in, so we didn't notice that two of those beauties were dead :(
They were very close to the house, so for safety reasons, we had to cut them down :(

I was devastated !!! until I found on Pinterest ( and I have to admit - I am addicted to it !!! ) the cutest picture of a little gnome house made out of an old tree trunk ...

We ( that means my hubby and I :) ) fell in love with that idea ...
So we decided to do something similar ...
and that's what we have now in our front yard, right in front of our bedroom window :)

This cute little house causes a significant traffic on our street, but the funniest part is to watch from my couch people suddenly stopping their car when they notice the house, rushing through the grass to take a picture of it ... :) and then they are even more surprised when they notice that there are two sides of the house, one slightly different from another ...
My husband calls it duplex :)

I need to finish it with only one more thing - sign

FOR RENT!

I hope you like our little project :)

Have a nice Monday friends :)

See you soon !

Kitchen cabinets makeover ...

Hello, everyone :)

Our kitchen is finished !!! Yuppie !!!
Took a lot of work but we love the way it turned out ...

First I wanted to show you how this place looked when we first bought it ...
all cabinets were falling apart with tons of grease accumulated everywhere and can you see that awful color?
Yuk !!!

But despite all of it, I saw the potential ...
did some research about ASCP,
found a beautiful antique store near by named Tattered Tiques,
talked to fantastic owners ( lovely lady with two daughters )
who helped me pick the right color for my dreamed kitchen,
showed me how to distress properly
and voila  ...

the dream come true ... :)

"vino " - my favorite and only drink, preferably in red color ...

I don't know about you, but I'm totally in love ...
It wasn't easy but worth every second, hour, a day of my work ...
so much joy and proud in the end ...

Next time will show you bathroom vanity makeover :)
Stay tuned :)

Flower containers ...

Happy Thursday everybody :)

In January, me and my hubby, bought a house in a country, near Chicago, sitting on one acre of land ( mostly grass and huge, old trees ! )
We are still remodeling this old beauty and there no time for me to start a real garden as I wish for, so instead, I planted some flowers in containers ...
They added a lot of life and color to our home !!!

For now, it has to be enough, but next year I will have huge flower beds surrounding my front porch and backyard deck :)
And I promise to share this with you :)

Baby shower :)

Hello friends,

I want to share with you some exciting news - I just hosted my very first professional party :)finally, after so many years thinking about being a party planner girl, I had the opportunity to host one and show everybody my talent ...

It was a Baby Shower for my best friend, Gabi ...she is expecting a little baby girl pretty soon, and I couldn't be happier to be the one to organize this little girl gathering for her ...

I choose owl theme in brown, light pink and ivory colors and I started with my own handmade invitations :)

Aren't they cute?
I think those owls are pretty adorable :)
Everybody loved them thou :)

But the most fun I had while decorating rooms and tables !!!
Shopping for owls, trying to use things I already have at home and putting all this stuff together was an amazing experience ... I wish I can do it for a living :)
Girls were stunned and in love with everything I did :)
See for yourself and tell me what you think :)

Have a good night, friends :)
